Nigella Seed | 1 and ½ TSP |
Mustard Oil | 3 TBSP |

Peyanj Posto! This is yet another bengali delicacy which incorporates posto/poppyseeds/opium paste. This vegetarian dish has only four ingredients in it. The hero is obviously the combination of onions and the poppyseed paste.
Preparation:
STEP 1- In a mixer grinder add 3 and ½ TBSP of poppy seeds, 1TBSP of water, 1 green chilli and ½ TSP of salt to make a smooth paste. Keep it aside.
STEP 2- In a frying pan, pour 3 TBSP of mustard oil, add the nigella seeds and two slitted green chillies. Let it crackle.
STEP 3- After 15 secs, add the sliced onion and let it cook for 2 mins on medium high heat. Keep stirring it. Try not to brown it.
STEP 4- Add the poppy seed paste and 1 TSP of salt. Stir it nicely and let it cook for another 3 mins on low flame.
STEP 5- Add 3 slitted green chillies and let it cook for another min on low flame.
STEP 6- Your Peyanj Posto is ready. Best served with steamed rice.
